Together, we’ve built a bakery that blends Tom’s artistry in baking with Emily’s eye for storytelling and celebrating the craft of artisan bread.

After many years working in education, Emily found herself on a new adventure, working alongside her husband, Tom in a little bakery he ran for some of his previous employers. It was there she watched Tom truly come into his own, creating delicious artisan sourdough, winning awards and gaining recognition for the craft he loves so much.
Before long, Emily was swept up in the magic of it all. With her love for photography and storytelling, she began capturing Tom’s bakes and sharing his journey on his Instagram @tom_the_baker, helping more people discover his passion for artisan bread.
What started as helping out soon grew into a dream they both shared, to build a bakery where their talents could come together, Tom’s skill for creating delicious, handcrafted bread and Emily’s eye for bringing their story to life. Together, they’ve poured their hearts into creating something special, baked with love and shared with their community.

Tom has spent over 21 years perfecting his craft in the baking world, with a deep love for all things sourdough. He has a natural gift for working with dough, able to sense exactly what it needs at each stage, a skill that comes only from years of experience and intuition.
His dedication has earned him national recognition: a two time finalist in the BIA Baker of the Year awards, and the proud recipe creator of Britain’s Best Loaf 2024.
But Tom will be the first to say he hasn’t walked this path alone. His wife, Emily, has been a driving force behind his success bringing her creativity, vision, and storytelling skills to share his passion with the wider world. Together, they’ve built something special, a bakery where craft and creativity come together in every loaf.
